There are many pets in Grow a Garden, and each one does different things. Pigs are one of the pets you can get, and these pets can alter the chances that your fruit gets the Gold or Rainbow mutation. All About Pigs in Grow a Garden

Pigs are pets that are obtained from a Rare Egg. There's about a 16% chance that your Rare Egg will hatch into a Pig. Pigs emit an aura every 118 seconds that doubles the chance for your fruit to get the Gold or Rainbow mutation. Bacon Pigs were a limited pet only available during the Cooking Event in August 2025.

  1. Pigs emit an aura that can cause fruit to grow as variants. Every 118 seconds, Pigs will emit an aura for 15 seconds that doubles the chance for your fruit to grow as a variant within 15 studs.[1] The two mutations that the Pig will increase are Gold and Rainbow.[2]
    • The Gold mutation has a 1% chance of being applied, so Pigs will increase that to 2%.
    • The Rainbow mutation has a 0.1% chance of being applied, so Pigs will increase that to 0.2%.

  1. Bacon Pigs also emit a variant-inducing aura, but it can happen more frequently. Every 5 seconds to every 120 seconds, Bacon Pigs will emit an aura for 15 seconds that doubles the chance for your fruit to grow as a variant within 15 studs.[3] The two mutations that the Bacon Pig will increase are Gold and Rainbow.[4]
    • The Gold mutation has a 1% chance of being applied, so Pigs will increase that to 2%.
    • The Rainbow mutation has a 0.1% chance of being applied, so Pigs will increase that to 0.2%.

  1. Pigs can be obtained by hatching a Rare Egg. There are five total pets you can get from a Rare Egg, and there's a 16.67% chance that your Rare Egg will hatch into a Pig. The other options are Cat (the most common at 33.33%), Spotted Deer (25%), Rooster (16.67%), and Monkey (8.33%).[5]
    • You can purchase a Rare Egg from the Pet Eggs shop for 600,000 Sheckles or 89 Robux. There's a 26% chance that a Rare Egg will be in stock at the Pet Eggs shop.
    • A Rare Egg takes 2 hours to hatch.

    Pig vs. Praying Mantis: What's the difference? Pigs have a similar passive trait to the Praying Mantis pet, but Pigs are a little easier to get. On the other hand, Praying Mantises can activate their trait more often, and can also apply the Silver mutation.[6]

How to Get a Bacon Pig

  1. The Bacon Pig is currently not available. Bacon Pigs were obtainable during the Cooking Event, which took place from August 2 to August 16, 2025.[7] Bacon Pigs could be obtained by opening Culinarian Chests. There was a 34.5% chance of getting a Bacon Pig from the chest, with the other possible options being Rhubarb, a Badlands Pepper, a Hotdog Dachshund pet, a King Cabbage, or a Lobster Thermidor pet.[8]
    • The Bacon Pig may be available again in a future event.

  1. Both Pigs and Bacon Pigs have been found in a number of mutations. You can give a pet mutations by paying 500,000,000 Sheckles at the Mutation Machine, by using a Golden Acorn, by using the Headless Horseman's ability, or by using Pet Mutation shards.[9]
