If you are ever unsure, or someone digitally threatens, blackmails or steals, do not hesitate to contact the police. Also, if the problem is not that large, you can contact your computer manufacturer (i.e. Apple).

If you even suspect you've been hacked, change your password. Use a strong, hard to guess one or randomly generate one with a password generator.

Don't automatically assume your friend is a spy, but if you are suspicious monitor them closely. If you feel they are acting strangely, keep asking you extremely personal questions such as passwords, or seem to be excessively clingy, don't hesitate to tell somebody like your parents. If you are uncomfortable, contact the police.

Most, if not all, smart phones have the option to turn off GPS in the Settings app. Doing so will prevent the apps on your phone from knowing your location but might render them useless if they require your location to function (like Google Maps). This does not make you invisible however, as your smartphone could still be tracked by E911 (a GPS safety feature used by emergency services that cannot be turned off) or by cellular triangulation.

Talk on a secure line, and only share your number with trusted friends and family. This way, it's less likely that someone will listen in. You could also change your number.

Check the camera and check every corner of your room. If you see someone or something, call the police. If you see nothing call your friends over and go on a big search. Check the most unusual spots too. Check outside as well. If you find nothing, your camera might have something wrong with it. Or, maybe it's an animal.
